Quotes from Priest Holmes

"I truly believe that every setback, every injury, every obstacle that we face...be it in our career, our personal lives, or within ourselves...is an opportunity to get better (rise higher). Attitude is everything. If the proper perspective is taken then one can turn an individual setback into a "Ray of Hope and Encouragement" for another person who may face something similar down the road. Basically, by turning a "test" into a "Testimony", no one can ever say there wasn't any purpose to what they went through. There is always purpose!"

"Fortunately, my knowledge that I am a Child of God is my advantage. I will not be terrified or discouraged because God is with me wherever I go and whatever situation I face. He will never leave me or forsake me. Victory is God's promise if I live by Faith in Him. In that critical moment I find my advantage in God (Having a personal relationship with Jesus)."

"I tell them to be faithful in doing the little things in order to prove themselves able to handle the bigger things. I constantly push them in the little areas where most people are tempted to cut corners. Living by this principle creates self discipline and it can create bigger and better opportunities because you prove to others you are capable of handling greater responsibility. I achieved great things because I was committed to the little things. It's the only way."

Our Deepest Fear

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presense automatically liberates others."
--By Marianne Williamson from her book "A Return to Love" Harper Collins 1992, from Chap 7, Section 3 Pg 190-191.
